WORSHIP

We invite you to pray this paraphrase of Psalm 19 before Sunday worship.

God’s glory is on tour in the skies,
    God-craft on exhibit across the horizon.
Madame Day holds classes every morning,
    Professor Night lectures each evening.

Their words aren’t heard,
    their voices aren’t recorded,
But their silence fills the earth:
    unspoken truth is spoken everywhere…

The Law of LOVE is perfect, restoring the soul;
The testimony of LOVE is sure, making wise the simple.

The precepts of LOVE are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of LOVE is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The awe of LOVE is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of LOVE are true; they are righteous altogether.

They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much pure gold;
Sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb…

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart— these words I chew on and pray--- be acceptable in Your sight, LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.

(Heavily inspired by CVC Study Group. Psalm 19 (MSG, NIVUK, NASB, Psalms for Praying, Nan Merrill)
